Representing  You

As your Ward Councilor, I remain committed to listening to and working for my constituents.

I am Accessible and Responsive

I am your representative in the City Council.   I take action in response to your requests and positions on various issues.

Managing Growth and Our Future

Newton's proximity to a thriving Boston, access to transportation and its quality of life create pressure to grow to accommodate more people.  Evolving demographics are changing the size and makeup of the average household with implications for housing.

Exercise Fiscal Responsibility

Newton's General Fund budget is about $430 million. While we are generally fiscally healthy, we face significant challenges in maintaining that fiscal health. Our annual budget increases are slightly outpacing inflation and our legally constrained ability to increase the annual property tax levy.  We need to maintain and grow our commercial tax base to help increase overall revenue.

I have been engaged with various community organizations to understand and support the creation of affordable housing.

Newton's green space and access to recreation like biking and long walks are key factors in our quality of life.
